From the Desk of Vice Chairman Jordan Mondragon,
BAC Local 3 members have continued to support strong labor candidates for our cities that need fair labor practices and strong leadership.
During the November 2024 elections, BAC Local 3 members showed their support through phone banking, and precinct walks. These candidates will stand for us on City Councils, Assembly Districts, Senate Districts, School Board Trust, and County Supervisorial Districts. These efforts helped achieve and secure various Community Work Agreements (CWA) and Project Labor Agreements (PLA’s) with cities, counties, and school districts.
Helping candidates on these walks is an act of solidarity. Our presence sends a clear message that we support fair wages, safe workplaces, and Union security.
We need real labor support, union workers are the backbone of cities, and they deserve leaders who fight for them, not just during election times.
Recently, BAC members have taken part in these precinct walks to support Gabby Chavez Lopez, who is a strong labor candidate for the San Jose City Council District 3 special election. The Santa Clara County Democratic Party endorses her along with South Bay Labor Council, State Senator Dave Cortese, and various leaders that we trust.
Lastly, thank you to all the members who have helped during election times and took part in the past months with late-night meetings at city halls, phone banking calls on weeknights, and precinct walks.
Sincerely,
Jordan Mondragon
